Some of my sculpts conversion

 

ULTIMATE BRICK ATTACK first up is my Ellie figure from the game "The last of us"  I used a generic Bronezage figure as the base with a head swap from a Reaper figure and then some green stuff for the rest.   I had finished painting her and gave her a coat of Dull coat and Arrrrrrgg the dreaded white specks. Just have to touch her up I guess not sure if I will be able to get rid of them.

 

This is my Kelly figure a Zombie survivor from the game "Survive the outbreak" I really liked the game, it only take a few minutes to play and it's free. I will get the whole cast made up at some point.

Last but not least is my dungeon explorer( self portrait, though I am much better looking).  I used a Reaper angry mob figure,changed the weapon,added the beard,wine sack,backpack,helmet,sword and re did the boots with green stuff.

I had invested in the Otherworld Miniatures - Dungeon Adventurers  on Indiegogo and wanted to make  a figure to join along

British documentary called “7 up” (series) on Netflix.

I just finished watching a truly fascinating British documentary called “7 up” (series) on Netflix.  I am sure it well known to our British member’s but maybe less to us Americans.  It is a look (be it a short look) into the real lives of some British children at 7 years old to adulthood starting in 1964 (every 7 years) up till 2005(I believe that the latest “56 up” is to be broadcast soon).  The show covers just about everything in life and death and you really feel for the participants as their life unfolds for the better or worst.  At times you even feel as though you are intruding on their lives as some of them point out. Now the show itself, if you watch it in one go on Netflix can be a bit repetitive(that poor rabbit gets killed in every show) but you have to remember that it was broadcast originally ever 7 years  so new viewer and old viewers were brought up to date.  And for some reason a lot of the cast seems to look failure to me, mostly because I am about the same age and see some of what happens to them in my own life.  Also because two of the participants remind me of(Suzy) Jenny Aguter (Logan’s Run) and (Nick)John Delancey (Q on Star trek)  Well it’s a good show  and if you like this sort of thing I recommend it.

Sci fi giant almost done!!!

Been working on the painting of my Sci fi giant. he is coming out pretty good if I don't say so myself.  Just added the ammo belt that I made out of brown stuff putty and just few more touch ups and he's done. What do you think?

Reaper Bones

Tried painting one of the new Reaper Bones range of plastic figures.  Although the plastic is quite bendy he took the paint very well and after a coat of varnish he should have little trouble with paint chipping, and for the price you can't go wrong.  Of course this is one of the more sturdier of the Bones figures and  I would be interested in seeing how others feel about the range.

Flying Gladiators

Some Bronze age Gladiator inspired by "Spartacus" the TV show where gladiators leap and fly through the air with the greatest of ease. OK not realistic but pretty cool for a TV show.

WIP Heavy weapons Gaint

Started a new project of a heavy weapons giant trying to learn some sculpting.
I started with a Mage knight iron giant(which I had used before) http://bandit86.blogspot.com/search/label/Giants  I really like his face.
Removed the Axe and reposition the arms adding a large Mini gun that I made out of bits of old toys/models and putty.

I added a back pack and a bottle cap for the ammo magazine and then started to fill in areas with putty.

Moving along with putty fill ins and sculpting. Hair was added along with shirt/pants/belts and boots. Upper arms were added along with an optical targeting device. So far I am please with the folds in the clothing and the way the hair came out. Bit more tweaking and then I have to make an ammo belt then onto painting

So the other day I am driving down a road in my town and pulling up on my left was something familiar and cool, wish I had my camera

 Remember when I first saw the movie in the theater thought this was so cool and it was in real life too.
