Quar and Grymn WIPs

My Quar Is-Caerten, with no name as of yet and a picture of some of my Grymn still in progress. I never can stay on one subject for long, that’s why I have lots of started armies and none finished. But I am determined to complete my Grymn’s and Quars. Both set of little fellows are a pleasure to paint and collect. Hope you like them.

Hasslefrees' Debra Sci Fi Trooper

Just a Couple of Pictures of Debra, a Sci fi trooper from Hasslefree. I really, really liked this figure but my painting does not do it justice. I enjoyed painting it and it looks much better in person (not as yellow) as I am still learning how to use the camera. I hope Kev at Hasslefree makes a few more companions to go along with Deb, it’s a great sculpt and would fit into many sci fi games as a light trooper. My favorite part of this sculpting is the attention to details that Kev puts into each figure like the padding inside the helmet which is just visible on the side of her face; it makes for an outstanding figure. All in all this is an outstanding figure and if you’re into Sci Fi figures or games is worth the price.

Y Barwn Coch or The Red Baron

A few more WIP Quar. Here are two new Quar that I worked on last night. The first is Y Barwn Coch, (or The Red Baron if my Translator worked) I still don’t have any fluff written about my Quar yet but I love this figure so I bought 2.
I thought this figure really lent itself to a tribute figure of the famous WWI Ace. The second figure (no name as of yet) is my Quar commander and is not a tribute but I did steal the uniform from a less than popular German Ace. (But no politics here) I just thought the uniform style went nicely with the sculpting. Anyways, once again they where a lot of fun to paint up (thou my painting skill and eye sight are not as good as they once were. Painting now is for fun not awards).
I can always see the mistake and little specs of dust and so after I take the pictures but I thought I’d post them anyways and I’ll fix them up tonight. Zombiesmith has really hit the mark with the Quar and I hope they keep them coming. Thanks for looking , hope you like them.

Quar casualty

Ryfler Difywdy Marw. Quar casualty

I decided that one of my Quar soldiers will bite the dust (it is War after all) so I started this Casualty Quar figure, Poor little fella step on a mine or was sniped at either way its the end of the road for Ryfler Marw. At this time it is still a WIP with the painting but the figure is done. I used bits and pieces from my Quars as well as a bit of hand made stuff. I don’t think it looks half bad for a casualty marker. I hope you like it and as always feedback is appreciated.

My first figures of the first set of my Quars from Zombiesmith. First let me say these are one of the more original alien designs out there and are wonderful figures to paint, I absolutely love these little guys
. My wish was to go for a more drab uniform for my units, which I think I achieved even thought the pictures are not the best. I have chosen to paint whatever one I picked up out of my box of Quar first so there is not rhyme or reason in the order of things.
The 1st up are, A Ryfler, a Pik Pik messenger squirrel handler and one of my Mortar squads. They were all lots of fun to paint but the assembly was a bit of a bother. They are not all that hard to do but those skinny arms and heads are a pain in the neck. If you plan on doing some Quar in the future I would suggest drilling out the arm and neck area to enlarge the openings, I found this to be a great help when assembling the figures. One of the greatest things about these figures is that they come with all sorts of extra little bits each figure has a choice of heads and packs and other cool stuff to add on, so that you can make the same figure in many different ways. All in all the Quars are tops in my book. As always I hope you like them and feedback is welcome.

Rose Farm

This is Rose farm, the main house and the spring kitchen; the set also included the outhouse that I had posted previously. The set is from architectural heritage and is a large heavy well made set with little or no flaws to speak of. I had purchased this set at least 10 years ago (I think) at one of the historicons. I found it to be a really fun set to paint up which I did last year. There is a listing for the main farm house on E- Bay and I thought you might like to set it painted up. Any feedback is always welcomed

I just finish an Old Saloon I had from what I think is Hovel miniatures? I was still fun to paint but was not my favorite piece due to lots of flaws in the casting (which you should see in the pictures). It’s a rather small building compared to Arnica Montana and other Manufactures that I am using, but I had it, so it got painted. It also did not get the interior treatment that I have been doing for my other buildings because it’s hollow but not hollow enough for the inside to be done. I do have a Saloon that will be done in the future and will have the interior. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks. Bandit86
